Repair and overhaul
Turbomecanica’s facilities are equipped with a tear-down area, a dismantling dedicated area, equipments for measurement and NDT capabilities. Engines repair and overhauls are performed using state-of-the art technology . All phases of the repairs are applied according requirements : dismantling, stripping and cleaning, visual inspection of components, measurement and/or non-destructive inspection tests. After analyzing and according technical reports, is fulfill the replacement of non-reparable parts, application of Service Bulletins, reassembly and testing. Turbomecanica’s testing facilities cover a wide range of tests: test rigs for fuel/oil/hydraulic accessories of the engine, balancing and overspeed equipment, test beds for turbojets and turbo shafts. Engines & Dynamic Components For Helicopter Assembly
Assembling of components, subassemblies and final assembling are performed in a dedicated shop area, using complex assembling precision specific equipment. There is available equipment for balancing (shafts, rotors, rotating assemblies) and overspeed tests.
For new production 2,000 sqm are dedicated and for overhaul 4,000 sqm shop space. The assembly shop facilities permit repair of and / or other engines, types of family and sizes similar to the engines in current production.
Dynamical components are completely disassembly, checked, NDT inspected and reassembled on specific requirements.
A highly skilled labor force of mechanics and inspectors is available.
Test Facilities
Test facilities include 2 engine tests cells for small and large turbojets / turbofan engines, implemented with Central Engineering Company (Minneapolis) equipment.
The test cell for turboshaft, having a classical configuration with the engine placed on the ground level, permits testing for engines with a power range up to 2,000 Kw.
The test cell for turbojet, having the cradle hanged, permits testing for engines with thrust up to 10,000 daN.
Gearboxes for helicopter are tested on dedicated test rigs, for main and rear rotorheads.
Accessories and component test facilities include test rigs for fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, afterburning fuel rings, fuel nozzles, engine electrical equipment, overspeed test rigs for discs and rotors.
